Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen are celebrity traders for MDA | Polygon PR

Celebrity Traders: December

Each month Polygon PR joins forces with City Index to give a couple of celebrities the opportunity to try their hands at trading, with any money they make going to their nominated charity.

In December Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen hedged exceptionally well and walked away with £4160.85 and £3975.54 respectively for the Marina Dalglish Appeal.

When Dalglish’s wife, Marina, beat breast cancer, the family wanted to help others going through the same thing. They set up the Marina Dalglish Appeal in 2005 with an ongoing mission to help improve cancer care on Merseyside.

In 7 short years they have raised £1.5million to build a Centre for Oncology and £3.2million towards a new £17million state of the art Radiotherapy Centre, both at University Hospital Aintree. They also recently donated £500,000 to Southport and Formby DGH enabling them to refurbish their chemotherapy centre.

Good friends for many years, Ex-Liverpool Football star and Match of the Day pundit Hansen is a trustee for the charity and whilst losing out to well-respected manager Dalglish on the trading floor, I think you will join us in agreeing that they both did really well for Marina’s charity, a score draw for sure.

Our celebrity traders in January are Aussie pop-star and actress Natalie Imbruglia who will be partnering up with Sky sports presenter Sarah-Jane Mee to see if they have what it takes in the pit to walk away with a donation for their nominated charity, Fight Against Fistula. Find out next month.
