McFly’s Harry Judd is taking on a couple of gruelling physical challenges to raise valuable funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust and you have voted them as our Charity of the Week with 42% of the vote.

As an ambassador for TCT, Judd is committed to raising awareness for this incredibly worthwhile charity but is going one step further this Spring by pushing his physical limits. Along with four friends, he will be running the Virgin London Marathon in April. Two weeks later, they will be taking part in the Tough Mudder challenge, a 13 mile endurance assault course that is not for the faint hearted.

The Teenage Cancer Trust works tirelessly to ensure that young people with cancer are treated like young people first and cancer patients second to enable a good quality of life. They bring young people together who are going through the same thing so that they can be treated together.

A Teenage Cancer Trust unit provides optimum care through an innovative combination of design, equipment and facilities, and specialist staff and culture. Together these essential aspects provide a range of crucial benefits to young people with cancer.

By working to raise funds and joining forces with the Government and the NHS, steps are constantly being taken to improve survival rates.

Education is a large part of the charity’s work and the visit schools, colleges, universities, clubs and societies all over the UK to chat to young people about the warning signs and symptoms of cancer and understanding how it can affect them and those close to them too. The pioneering educational programme reaches 130,000 students and teachers each year.

I’m sure Harry and his friends will raise a substantial amount of money towards the ongoing work of the Teenage Cancer Trust and wish them the best of luck!
